THE COMPETITION AMONG THE GREAT , THE MARKET PLAYERS IN ONE RESPECT HAS MADE THE CONSUMER TO GO TO HIS CHOICE AND ON  THE OTHER, THERE  ARE MANY CHANCES OF HIS BEING DUPED. THE NATIONAL AND THE INTERNATIONAL CONSUMER CONSCIOUSNESS AGENCIES THROUGH  THE CONSUMER MOVEMENT HAVE DEFINED AND DETERMINED THE RIGHTS OF CONSUMERS. THE ANCIENT VIEW THAT PAY MONEY AND GO, HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE POLICY LIKE PURCHASE OUR GOODS WE GIVE GUARANTEE.
TODAY  CONSUMER  IS NOT HARASSED AFTER CONSUMPTION OR PURCHASE THE LAW HELPS HIM IN MANY WAYS. THE RIGHTS OF CONSUMER INCLUDE THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION  , THE TO REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCE AND RIGHT TO SAFETY AND RIGJHT TO COMPLAIN. IN THE YEAR 1986 THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT WAS ENACTED. AFTER THIS LOVE THE CONSUMER FORUMS WAS SET UP AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL . DISTRICT CONSUMER FORUM , STATE COMMISSION AND NATIONAL COMMISSION ALONG WITH THE CONSUMER PROTECTION COUNCIL AT THE THREE LEVEL. AND COLLECTIVELY THESE FORUMS  PROMOTE THE CONSUMER RIGHTS  AND PROTECT THE SAME. IN ORDER TO MEET THE CURRENT NEED FOR THE CONSUMER PROTECTION THE PARLIAMENT HAS COME UNDER THE CONSUMER PROTECTION  ACT MORE THAN FIVE TIMES OF 2 MARCH 2004.  A  CONSUMER IS AN IMPORTANT PARTICIPANT IN THE MARKET. IN CASE OF CONSUMER EXPLOITATION, THE RIGHTS OF THE CONSUMER MUST BE PROTECTED.  MARCG 15 IS NOW CELEBRATED AS THE WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY. THE UNITED NATIONS  IN 1985 ADOPTED, CERTAIN GUIDELINE TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES OF MAINTAINING PROTECTION FOR CONSUMERS AND TO ESTABLISH HIGH- LEVEL ETHICAL CONDUCT FOR THOSE ENGAGED IN THE PRODUCTION OF GOODS AND SERVICES.

IT PROTECTS THE CONSUMER FROM EXPLOITATION THAT BUSSINESS PRACTICE TO MAKE PROFITS  WHICH IN TURN HARM THE WELL BEING OF CONSUMER AND SOCIETY.
  • IN THIS, IT PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF THE CONSUMER AND MAKES USERS AWARE OF THEIR RIGHTS.
  • THEY HAVE DEVELOPED OR FORMED THREE TIER SYSTEM WHERE IN THERE IS DISTRICT FORUMS , STATE COMMISSION AND NATIONAL COMMISSION THUS TO PROTECT THE RIGHT OF THE CONSUMER.
  • CONSUMER COURT-
CONSUMER COURT ARE SPECIAL COURT SET UP BY THE INDIAN JUDICIARY TO SETTLE  CONSUMER  GRIEVANCES AND ENTERTAIN CONSUMER PROBLEMS. A SPECIAL CONSUMER COURT IS SET UP TO ENSURE THAT JUSTICE IS DONE QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY, WITHOUT UNDUE HARDSHIP TO THE COMPLAINANT. ALSO TO HANDLE THE SHEER NUMBERS OF CASES, THE CONSUMER COURTS HELPS LESSEN THE BURDEN ON THE JUDICIARY SYSTEM.
